Have you ever come upon one of those travel blogs written by people who have left everything behind to travel the world for a living? Don’t you love those sites? Well… this is NOT one of those. Trust me - I love those blogs too! But I’ve found that everyone has a travel personality and getting advice from someone who matches your travel personality is sometimes way more helpful. And my family is more of the “our-kids-have-to-be-home-regularly-for-sports-practices” kind of traveling family. We have happened to be able to take some trips we loved (and some we haven’t). We’ve developed a knack for planning more of the “trips we love” variety. We also happen to think every trip should be truly special. You know - worthy of that hard to come by time off, not just from work but from kids’ activities too. We want each trip to be a time when our kids learn through travel too. In planning those kinds of extra special trips we learned a few things - like how to save a little money on a luxury vacation, when it’s worth it splurge on the “good” seats on a plane, how to help someone in the family get over a fear of flying, and other helpful tips.
